Coworking Combats Loneliness: A Member Testimonial

Jennifer Diaz

It’s a typical Monday morning, sitting in your home office and shifting through client receipts. Maybe you play a little music or maybe the only sound in the house is the echoes of a ticking clock from your kitchen down the hall. You stop to look out the window with a sunken feeling, uninspired and unmotivated. It’s simply Monday for the average Freelancer… at home, working alone, and feeling stuck.

Tara Johnson is the owner of North Bay Bookkeeping for 12 years and has been a Member at T-werx since June of 2017. She provides bookkeeping services to small businesses that are looking to outsource their accounting needs to keep focus on developing their business.

For years Tara had been running her business from home, struggled with meeting new people, and overcoming isolation. When she learned about T-Werx through a colleague and former member, Chappell Oates, she decided to try coworking out for herself.

Last year, I joined T-Werx for what I thought was going to be a 3 month summer term. I have now been a member for well over a year. I stayed with T-Werx because of the community. My team of trusted advisors has grown, my circle of friends has grown and my bank balance has grown.

Steve King of the Harvard Business Review reports that 82% of Members in coworking spaces have expanded their professional networks in which 64% saw growth in leads and referrals. ( Source )

Tara attributes her social success to Marketing and Community Director Michelle Johnson, who has coached her on how to effectively increase her network.

Jeff and Michelle invest their time and energy into building a community that fosters solopreneurs and small businesses alike… The collaboration among members is my favorite perk in the T-Werx community. I feel like I have a team of trusted advisers who have my best interests at heart. Many members generously share their knowledge and expertise. I have learned so much from T-Werx staff and its members.

To freelancers working from home, Tara had this to say:

I highly recommend T-Werx to any entrepreneur or remote worker who feels isolated and seeks a community. T-Werx has brought a lot more fun into my world. Because of the T-Werx community I have made friends, earned clients, gained education, grown my professional network and so much more.

Today, Tara Johnson is on our

Success-Werx Team. She offers a one hour complimentary consultation to T-Werx members. We thank Tara Johnson for believing in the T-Werx mission!
